There are a lot of checks I can’t fill on the fashion magazine constructed beauty checklist. No long glossy curls, no long lean legs, no smooth unwrinkled skin. But my daughter thinks the strands of white in my hair are glitter.
I have been trained in a strict glossy magazine definition of beauty and often fail to see the beauty in my own laugh lines. But today I’m going to agree with my son when he tells me the moles on the back of my neck are a constellation. By expanding our definition of beauty, we are able to fit ourselves inside of it.
What unconventional beauty have you seen today?

Oh my! You are beautiful. I see a darling mom with the greatest smile, beautiful teeth, and cheerfulness in your eyes! Today I will look for a new beauty in myself.
Thanks for the challenge. 🙂

Love this! As a new mom, I struggle with my new body. Today, I’m going to find the beauty in my soft, healing body’s capability to continue to care for the little boy I worked so hard to grow. Thanks for the gentle reminder that beauty comes in many forms!

What a wonderful post! Love it!!! And what an absolutely delightful photo of you and your children! You look lovely.
I’ve been trying to see myself through the eyes of my toddlers, who snuggle up to my cushy pregnant body as if it’s the ultimate comfort, and through the eyes of my husband, who squeezes and kisses me as if I were a supermodel. 😉
