Baby Spa

While we’re on the topic of baby boys and femininty, I’d like to initiate a discussion around newborn beauty.
When your diapers smell like fresh baked bread and your vomit could be bottled as cuddly cologne, an unfair advantage has already been set.  But isn’t your desirability all the more reason to pamper you with baby spa treatments.  Ideas follow below:

1) Hair & Scalp Treatment
Selsun Blue for Cradle Cap, massage a tiny dot into baby’s soft scalp to clear up any flakies in their diminutive down.
2) Facial
Mix one part vinegar with ten parts water and apply it to a cotton ball to gently combat baby acne.

3) Manicure & Pedicure
Not only are you less likely to nip those wiggly digits with the agility of baby scissors, but Tweezerman Baby Scissors have a lifetime guarantee, anytime they become dull, mail them in to Tweezerman for free sharpening.

4) Sinus Salve
There’s a better place then your shoulder for the nasal results of teething and internalized bacteria.  Start with a double spray of saline and finish with the theoretically distasteful yet in practice efficient Nosefrida Snot Sucker.
Simply Saline
Nosefrida Aspirator

5) Moisturizing Massage
Whether you’re combating baby exzema or just some cold weather dry skin, this rich ointment is your best bet.

My six week old loves this spa treatment pod tub after a long day of trying to right her head, it eases her aching muscles. I wish I would have discovered this three children ago, it is the best evening soother.

We are fans of the Aveeno Baby line. I love their unscented lotion and their bath gel.

Coconut oil massage! And I can see a Baby Andrew in the eyes and brows, and a Baby Reachel in the nose and mouth! ๐Ÿ™‚

My favorite baby (and adult, for that matter) skin treatment has become Vaseline! SO effective, and SOOO inexpensive!

I think it’s brushed aside too often, but wow. It cured my baby’s cradle-cap rash.

    Vaseline, Baby. ๐Ÿ™‚

oh he is so handsome! Cornstarch rubbed lightly on the skin also clears up baby acne. So good, in fact, that I wonder what it would do for adult acne.

Did you recieve the baby “spa” item that i sent you? im dying to know if that really works or not. if it does it will be the baby item of the century!! which means that it might be snake oil. who knows.

oh how fun it is to see in you in the depths of baby land!! i read your diaper bag post and i remember so well that feeling of panic as you left the house. Check, and re-check to make sure you have the proper amount of wetwipes in your little huggies travel case.
its funny for me to look upon those days and realize that I most likely wont experience them again. geez! it goes by so fast. just enjoy it—even though its the hardest thing ever sometimes.
but im sure no one has to tell YOU that. ๐Ÿ™‚ xoxox

    Jilly,

I used the cranky baby ointment just this morning after Baby Boyfriend’s bath. Following application Levi fell peacefully asleep.

You are the best auntie ever!

And can I tell you how much Coco loves her shoes? She brings them to me so I can put them on her.

    Love you dear

A drop of cooking oil does wonders for cradle cap as well. I let it soak on my wee one’s scalp while I scrubbed her up all bubbly. It’s not a pleasant smell though, so it’s good to follow up with some suds afterward.

    Cradle cap, be gone!!

Thanks for the Aquaphor tip. It has soothed my babe’s dry skin here in Utah better than anything else.
