Given the opportunity, my husband would live on the set of AMC’s MadMen. To keep him from chain smoking and incessant affairs, we’ve collected several cohesive circa-sixties pieces of our own. And we’re always looking to curate more. Hence, my home decor picks for our Local Love series:
It’s still uncertain whether owners Ryan & Kylie Durkins and Jeremy Briddell are transporting items directly from 1955 Palm Springs via time machine; what is confirmed is an exquisite assortment of mid-century treasures from knick-knacks and wall units to artwork and beds within their neat, service swelling showroom.

If you don’t fancy Midcentury Modern, the surrounding Melrose District offers half dozen adjacent stores supplying wares romantic to bohemian and beyond.

Your house is ridiculously amazing. One of these days I’m going to finagle an invite out of you so I can check it out in person!
jane says
Your house is beautiful! I am in the market for a new couch and your tufted, charcoal gray sofa is really catching my eye. Did you buy it new or is it vintage? I’d love a source if you have one!

Wait.. Did you guys move? I love your collection! Looks amazing!
Reachel Bagley, Fashion Consultant says
Kayla, you don’t even need an invite, you have an open welcome. Let’s set up a dinner date ASAP.
Reachel Bagley, Fashion Consultant says
Jane, while the yellow couch is vintage, the gray sofa is actually from Crate&Barrel, its the Petrie Sofa – http://www.crateandbarrel.com/petrie-sofa/s688480
I love it because it’s super easy to clean up, not that my kids ever wipe their noses or sticky hands on it.
Reachel Bagley, Fashion Consultant says
Kate, we did move, just three miles. Still missing the old neighborhood, but liking the new one too. Missing you too, we need to arrange some sort of visit.
Jaime says
I love your swing in your house! I wish I could see the top. How did you affix it to your beam? Love it.
Reachel Bagley, Fashion Consultant says
Jaime, my husband just scream two hefty eye hooks into the beam. The swing attaches to the hooks with carabiners so we can take it down if needed. Love it, a lot.

0I LOVE your rug. It is fun and colorful but still appropriate for a living room. Would you share where you purchased it?
Reachel Bagley, Fashion Consultant says
Thanks About Ours Good One Home, the rug is from Anthropologie (http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/home-rugs/76003.jsp)

Wow – the first three sentences of this post sound like they came straight out of my mouth. I’d love to see more of your home. My husband and I sold our beloved MCM house earlier this year in favor of building on from the ground up in the same neighborhood. It has lots of straight stacked concrete and I’m really hoping to add an indoor swing. We’ve been collecting vintage modern furniture for the past 4 years.

I love your home-especially the bright colors and lines. Where did you find your curtains?
Reachel Bagley, Fashion Consultant says
A&E,
The curtains are from Anthropologie:

Hi Reachel,
I love your home!!! I am just starting a love for MCM and wondered where you get your decorating inspiration? I would like to try to mix and match vintage pieces with newer ones but don’t even know where to start…any thoughts?
Reachel Bagley, Fashion Consultant says
dinab, I really love Dwell Magazine. It’s got great ideas for creating modern livable spaces. Good luck!
JenniferW says
Finding this very late, but is there a source for the swing? Love it!
Reachel Bagley says
Jennifer, it’s actually a labor of love by my husband. But it was really pretty easy. If you want I can put you in touch with him for details. Feel free to e-mail me.
