Folding clothing, while crucial for the care of delicate knits, requires cunning strategy, lest your tidy pile quickly degrade into clothing spaghetti.
For the first event in our Fashion Olympics, watch this video detailing a bronze, silver, and gold solution for folding. Soon you too will be deftly executing smart identical folds and quickly piling topple-proof symmetrical stacks of shirts and sweaters.

Hi Reachel! I have been peeking in on your blog for awhile now and not only love your style, but respect your blog as a platform for modest and flattering dress. I live in Glendale, AZ in the Peoria Stake. My husband is the bishop of our ward and is really wanting to encourage the Young Women in modesty and the beauty and dignity that comes with modesty. He brought up the idea the other day of having someone come to speak to the YW for mutual one night, and I thought of you. I know you live locally and wondered if you ever do this or would you be interested in coming to speak to our YW/sharing ideas, etc? I understand if you get these requests a lot or are unable, but I just wanted to ask! Thank you!

Hi –
I have a question for you. My clothing budget is very tight, as is my closet space. In the past if I had some clothing money I’d just buy something because it was VERY on sale and then hate it after a few wears. Now I’d prefer to save up my money and buy only some good pieces that I love, even if it means I will have very few clothes. Anyway, my question to you is if you were in my situation, what items would you HAVE to have in your closet. What are the workhorse pieces that you love that can be worn again and again in different ways? I am also curious about jewelry too, I can’t afford to always buy the trendy fun pieces, but what are a few classic pieces that I can wear with everything. Thanks!

Anonymous,
Your workhorse pieces will differ based on your lifestyle and signature style, but I can give you a rundown of my go to items. If I could only have 5items in my closet this would be the contents:
1. Perfectly fitting denim
2. Classic Button-up Shirt
(it can have a timeless print like stripes or polka dots)
3. Midi Skirt
(easy to dress up or down)
4. Solid Blouse in a Flattering Hue
5. Timeless jacket or Cardigan
6. Ballet Flats
7. Animal Print Pumps
(I want some pattern/edge in small doses)
8. Metallic or other Neutral Hued Belt
9. Small but Sparkly Post Earrings
10. Statement Necklace
(For fun costume jewelry I recommend Francesca’s and Forever21)
