Entertainment Fashion: Lois Lane (Superman Returns)

Entertainment Recommendation Four:
Lois Lane of Superman Returns

High-waisted trousers, draped silk blouses, and forties inspired, feminine menswear. Superman Returns robes the iconic Lois Lane in a classic Katherine Hepburn wardrobe.  The stills honestly don’t do the art-deco-dent costume design justice, I can only say, if skirts from a four-year-old movie, are still embedded in my frontal cortex, you should rent it this weekend.

Recently, I’ve found myself really loving the clothes that the character Bones (Temperance Brennan) wears on Bones. She used to wear jeans and fitted sweaters in earlier seasons, and now she looks delightfully retro. High heels, full skirts with pinched in waists, collared blouses, dresses, and an awesome set of trench coats that I absolutely covet. I’m a total sucker for retro-style flared skirts and dresses and collared shirts on women, so it’s right up my alley.

Plus, she’s accessorized with one interesting piece of jewelry per episode – either a necklace that catches the eye or nifty earrings.

Chuck and Emma have been my true favorites but Lois ranks a high 3rd.

I wrote a post today in which I layed open my heart. I hope you will stop by and read it. If it moves you, please feel free to share the dream.

You know what’s fantastic about this post? I never even thought about how great Lois Lane’s clothes are in that movie…but they are! They’re super cute. I am so glad you shared this. 🙂 Great movie.

Right now who I’m inspired by?? Hm, that’s a toughy! There’s so many. But I do love Emma Watson and her modeling…oh! and she has wonderful clothes in the film Ballet Shoes. 🙂

    Love,
    Rachel

Pretty much EVERYTHING that Rachel McAdams wears in The Notebook KILLS me. That Bikini! Her suits! The evening wear! The hats! Swoon.

I remember really liking the dresses that Alexis Bledel’s character wore in “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”. Very feminine and cute!

Kiera Knightly’s character, Vera, in The Edge of Love. Definitely not the best movie, but I liked the WWII era clothes – both the stylish city pencil skirts and slim polka dot dress as well as the country outfits with chunky sweaters and cardigans with floral dresses with wellies.
